Law Society Probate Section
The Probate Section is one of the four Law Society Sections – self-governing, committee-led membership associations. Established in 1997, the Section focuses on wills, financial planning, trusts, tax planning, Court of Protection, care planning and estate administration. Products and services include:
- Magazine with up to 12 hours free CPD per year.
- E-newsletter 10 times per year with case law updates.
- A number of publications, including PS Yearbook, PS Software Guide and Charities as Beneficiaries.
- CPD accredited annual conference.
- Free CPD accredited regional seminars.
- Website featuring discussion forum, useful resources and links, and secure payment facility.
- Networking opportunities.
- Media and public relations campaigns highlighting advantages of using a probate solicitor.
- Discounts on a range of events, texts and training packages, including 20 per cent off related Law Society Publishing titles, and 50 per cent off Law Management Section membership rates upon request.

Membership
Membership is open to solicitors and trainee solicitors with associate membership available to Fellows of the Institute of Legal Executives (FILEXs).
